Jakarta Deputy Governor, Rano Karno, attended Jakarta's 498th anniversary celebration at the Jakarta Fair Kemayoran, Central Jakarta on Saturday night (6/21).

"Here, the creative community showcases its potential and the general public enjoys cultural presentations, as well as educational entertainment," he expressed.

"Let's make Jakarta Fair lively; last year I heard there were almost 6.5 million visitors with a transaction value worth Rp 7 trillion. Hope this year, it can be maintained, but I'm sure it can be even more," he explained.
He expressed his appreciation and gratitude to PT Jakarta International Expo and all parties who have maintained the continuity of Jakarta Fair as a cultural and economic icon of Jakarta.
He added, entering its 498 year, Jakarta has undergone a long journey as a center of growth and a living space rich in diversity.
Through this year's anniversary theme "Jakarta, a Global and Culturally Rich City," it presents the direction of the city's transformation towards becoming an open and globally advanced city.
"This mature age becomes a momentum to move forward by continuously driving innovation," he added.
He also wants all residents of Jakarta to be able to maintain, care for, and build Jakarta as a harmonious, modern, and hopeful city.
